Every day is different so I can never get bored. I work at the cutting edge of engineering so you never know if your new device is going to work or go bang, so its quite exciting. Seeing something you designed get used is a great feeling.
Its also great teaching students, you get a lot of pride when one of them goes on to be a successful engineer.
I used to think it was travelling the world but that gets less exciting over time. I’m off to Botswana as soon as I’m an engineer is over.

Hi! My answer is similar to Graeme’s 🙂 I like to be very busy so I love that every day is different. I get to be involved with loads of different projects and learn lots of new things! I also love that I get to work in fusion energy, it’s awesome.

Also Graeme, I’m so jealous you’ve worked on the LHC!

I love it when we “go live” with software and I know that it is helping someone else do their job even better. I enjoy thinking through all the pros and cons of a design to make sure it is the best we can do. The thrill of solving a tricky problem is also immense especially when we’ve worked as part of a team and we’ve all spent ages bouncing ideas around. The scientists and other engineers I get to work with are cool too. Sorry… loads of things!

My favourite thing is that everyday is different! makes it feel like something new all the time!

I also like that in my position i am the point of contact for all information being exchanged on the project. I know everything! well related to the project anyway!

I get to work with loads of different types of people from all over the world and learn so much about how things can be done.
