There are definitely bits that are less fun (like paperwork!) but there’s always something to look forward to. If I’m filling in paperwork it means I’m about to start a big job! 🙂

At the beginning there were a few things I found boring such as meetings that would go on forever. (I just wanted to code!) As I’ve got more experienced some of those meetings are no longer boring as I now understand way more, I understand their importance, and I can follow the conversation and contribute more easily. Also as I’ve become a manager I’ve been able to change some meetings to make them more interactive and useful so people know that meetings will only happen when we need to do or discuss something specific together. There is nothing worse than what seems like a pointless meeting!

Not really, obviously there is paperwork in any job. I hate having to do expences claims forms for when I travel, and marking homework is a little boring after the 100th paper. But I don’t spend a lot of time doing that.

oh yes! some days it goes so quickly i feel i have achieved nothing but sit at my desk and email people! but these phases pass and there’s always a new problem to be solved soon enough.

Paperwork is a necessary evil, but i find if i pop some headphones in and upbeat music it passes quicker!
