      Yes, 100%. I love it. If I won the lottery I wouldn’t stop working. Would you if you got to install bits on the LHC at CERN working with millions of volts, developing new systems that are better or more powerful than anything previously? I got to be part of the team (albeit a very large team of thousands of people) that have contributed to the nobel prize for the discovery of the Higgs boson. I get to design machines that fight cancer.

      My wife always has to give me into trouble for solving problem on holiday, not because I have to but because I want to.

      Its a hobby I happen to get paid for.

      Hey guys!
      Like I commented below I really enjoy my job – it’s so cool to be able to put my physics degree to good use. I really like that I’m able to be involved in creating clean fusion energy! It’s a massive project with so many scientists and engineers involved! There’s lots for me to learn here and everyone is happy to help!
      Also, every day is different which is perfect for me because I need lots to do!

      Hi everyone. Yes, I love my job as a software engineer. I really enjoy the variety and being able to apply both my creative side and my logical side to help people and make things. I’d definitely recommend it if you want to make things but generally stay in a cosy office!

    I really enjoy my job – it’s so cool to be able to put my uni degree to good use. Also, I don’t know if I’ve mentioned it yet but I love fusion! It’s so cool to think that all the work I’m doing is adding to a project as big as fusion energy…

    Yes. 😁 I’m a software engineer and I love it! This seems to surprise a lot of people (my mum included!) as they can’t imagine “working with computers all day” but that is the beauty of it, I don’t just work with computers because a large part of my job is meeting people. I meet with users and managers to understand the problems they want to solve and we discuss how I might help them by writing some software. I need to be able communicate with a wide variety of people and be able to program. I also need to be able to program and know about ways to design software. This important so I ask people the right kind of questions needed to get the answers/information I need to make the decision on what can be done to help.
